Zeus' Recovery Fund

Carrie, 26, and her boyfriend Jesus, 29, welcomed their first child, a baby girl, into the world less than two months ago. This was a big step for my sister who has a history with anxiety. She was initially nervous about caring for her newborn since she this is her first child but has shown she is a great mother. She has also been a stepparent to Jesus' two young boys for several years showing them the same love and attention as any loving parent.  The young family were staying afloat with the arrival of their new baby while Carrie was still on maternity leave. Jesus was the primary provider in the family and my sister was planning to go back to work in a couple weeks to keep the family stable. Tragically Carrie received a call from the hospital one afternoon who told her Jesus had been shot as an innocent victim of gun violence. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and put in to a medically induced coma where he was unconscious for several days fighting for his life. He is still in emergency care until he is considered to be in stable condition for rehabilitation. He faces a long road to recovery both physically and mentally. Jesus underwent several surgeries where part of his larger intestine was removed after being damaged. He has a shattered sacrum, which means his spinal nerves are not supported, and also has a fractured hip bone. He is scheduled to be in the hospital for several weeks to recover and then take up to six months or more to operate normally. There will be several more surgeries, rehabilitation and physical therapy before Jesus can be back to his former self. The family is now struggling to keep a roof over their head while Jesus is recuperating. They have moving costs, rent, utilities, car expenses and now have little Emily, who is only two months old, to care for when Carrie returns back to work. We are asking for contributions to help this young family make it through the next six months while Jesus recovers and Carrie cares for her and Jesus' two children. They are extremely grateful for any contributions.
