Baby Daniel's Heart Fund

This page is being created for the Garcia family. Jay and Rosa Garcia are expecting their fourth child. At 20 weeks it was discovered that Baby Daniel had a heart problem, he was diagnosed with total anomalous pulmonary venous return and single ventricle. This condition requires that he have three separate heart surgeries, the first immediately after birth. Baby Daniel's expected date of arrival is January 18, 2014. The surgery will take place in California. Rosa will need to move to California by the 36th week in order to coordinate care with the doctors.
While dealing with the unexpected diagnosis of Baby Daniel, Rosa was also diagnosed with breast cancer. Because of the situation and because Rosa is already 31 weeks, she is having a mastectomy quickly. This will give her the opportunity to heal in time to get to California by 36 weeks.
All money raised will help pay for medical expenses, travel expenses, future surgeries for Baby Daniel, and treatments and surgery that will be needed for Rosa.
