Single Mother Battling Cancer

Donation protected
October is The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the US. The goal of this annual month long campaign is to bring attention to breast cancer, raise awareness and help women get educated about this potentially deadly disease that is one of the major causes of cancer-related deaths among women.

Sadly this disease has struck very close to home. Our dear friend and Marco Island resident has recently been diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. Our dear friend Laura Gunga, moved to the United States from the war torn country of Kosovo in seek of a better life. She is a single mother of two beautiful children, and since moving to the US has always worked two to three jobs in order to care for herself and her family. This past September she received the devastating diagnosis. She has two different types of cancer in each of her breasts, and has also spread to her lymph nodes. She will endure 16 cycles of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and follow up with radiation therapy This will all keep her from working and she will in turn be facing very serious challenges financially.

We humbly ask for your support in helping us with this fundraiser.
