Help My Nieces Autumn and Aurora

Donation protected
On Monday, March 12 my sister and her husband took their twin girls to the ER. They were running high fevers and they tested positive for RSV.

RSV (Respiratory syncytial Virus) can be deadly for toddlers, infants, and especially preemies.....my nieces Autumn and Aurora are preemies.

The ER doctor thought it would be best to admit them and observe them. The girls didn’t need any oxygen or breathing treatments. Their stats looked fine and they appeared to be doing quite well. So Tuesday afternoon, the doctor discharged Autumn and Aurora from the hospital.

The problem with RSV is that one minute your baby will appear normal with just a cold....and the next minute they will be in acute respiratory distress and not able to breath at all.

This happened Wednesday night to both girls....My sister, Allison rushed Autumn to the ER because she was having problems breathing. While the doctors were working hard at stabilizing Autumn, a nurse came into the room and told Allison that she was needed in the other room immediately. When my sister asked why, the nurse told her that her other daughter, Aurora, was rushed in and she wasn’t breathing on her own.

I can’t even imagine the absolute devastation and heart break my sister and her husband felt as they watched their daughters get intubated and airlifted to the children’s hospital in Iowa City.

Both girls are currently in the PICU literally fighting for their lives.
One minute the girls will seem stable and everyone just kind of all just relaxes for a moment and then the next minute they have a team of doctors and nurses working on them, trying to figure out new solutions that will work to keep them alive.

Autumn is currently intubated and in a medically induced coma. She came into the PICU with the top portion of her right lung collapsed. The doctors have had a hard time bringing her temp up and she’s had to have 1 blood transfusion.

Aurora is currently intubated and also in a medically induced coma. The doctors have had to intubate her twice now and she’s had 2 blood transfusions. They also placed her on nitric oxide because her oxygen saturation was too low.

The last thing my sister or her husband should have to stress and worry about is money.
Not only is this a great way to keep everyone updated on what’s going on with the twins.....but It’s a great way to raise some fund for them so they can make their main focus their daughters.....instead of when they need to go back to work.

The doctors don’t have many answers for them currently so they have no idea how long they will be there or what the next steps will be for their daughters.....they are literally taking it one minute at a time right now.

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated! Even if you only have a couple bucks....a couple bucks can go to a much needed coffee for one of them ☺️

If you don’t want to do a transaction over the internet ~ I can meet up with you for gas cards, Visa cards, local Iowa city restaurants cards, or cash and make sure that gets to them. Just let me know!

This gofundme account will be directly deposited into their bank account and will be available to them immediately!
