In Memory of Mark Schmidt 1964-2013

For those of you who know Gregg and Mark Schmidt, Mark lost his short battle with cancer on November 8th. He was diagnosed on August 20th with Stage 4 Mandible cancer and radiation or chemotherapy were not options. He was told he would die. He came home to live at the home he shared with his twin brother Gregg about 3 weeks ago and on November 8th, Mark lost his courageous battle with cancer. Services are pending but there will be a service in Danbury within the next 2 weeks. Gregg is obviously very distraught over the loss of his brother and for those of you who know them, they were inseparable throughout their lives. Gregg has been left with a financial burden for which he needs our help. His car recently broke down and he cannot afford to fix it so his commute to and from work via public transportation is about 2 hours each way. He can no longer afford the rent. All the money he did have he spent on his brother's care to pay for the feeding tube supplies and nutritional supplements. He wants to bury his brother and bring him "home" to Danbury but can't afford the airfare or the costs of the funeral expenses. I am sending out a plea to all of you who knew Mark and Gregg, whether as a friend or a relative to make a monetary donation so that I can help Gregg get back on his feet and at least have the financial burden eased a bit and allow him to give his brother the burial he deserved. Those who know him know that he would have done anything to save Mark's life and he gave Mark the best life he could have imagined, even waking him up to see the RedSox victory in the World Series as they were diehard Red Sox Fans.
