cancer, unemployment, military sons

The Liners are true examples of living in God’s word in the midst of the hardships of this world. With one son in the army stationed in Hawaii and another in the navy stationed in Japan, the cost of travelling home is extremely high. In addition, Mims was laid-off over a year ago and Kathryn, having had surgery, has not been able to work. Kathie Wilkes, Kathryn’s mom, has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and has been in the hospital some during the past 3 months. Kathryn also drives back and forth to the hospital every day to be with Kathie and care for her. The two families in the military have travelled home to be with Kathie, spending $3,000 and anticipating another $3,000 for their trip back. Despite their financial difficulties, the Liners have kept their faith in God throughout the trying times they have faced.
