A salute to Hunter Levine

Donation protected
Hunter Levine enlisted in the Army following graduation from College Park in May 2007. By December 2007, he was already on his way to fight in Iraq with the 10th Mountain Division, 4th Brigade, 230th Charlie Company, 2nd Platoon out of Fort Polk, La. In May 2008, he was injured when the Humvee he was driving was hit by an EFP, a warhead designed to penetrate armor. Although severely injured Hunter drove to safety with directions from another solider. Hunter lost both eyes and suffered severe facial injuries requiring 15-20 numerous reconstructive surgeries. In the years following his injuries, Hunter made numerous public appearances including The Woodlands Memorial day event where we was a featured speaker. During Hunters speech he stated "I'm not a hero. Heroes are the ones who didn't come back". This was the type of man Hunter was. He never saw himself as a hero but as soldier doing his duty. Hunter also received a home courtesy of helpingahero.org. During the ceremony when Hunter receive his new home he said"It took me to get blown up to see what life is all about. It's taking it one day at a time and helping as many people as you can". Then the inexplicable happened. On June 12, LeVine, 25, died of an apparent heart attack while visiting Army friends in Florida. Hunter was buried with full military honors at the Houston national Cemetery. As we all know a sudden death in a family is not only tragic but can also be very costly. So in order to help with the cost of his celebration of life event I decided to do my part to insure this event will be a success by asking for your donations of any amount. Once the goal amount is reached a date will be set for the celebration of life party. The money will be going to food, drinks, a DJ, decorations and any other expenses that will arise. Any amount of money that can be donated will greatly be appreciated. Thank you too all who have been apart of Hunters life and who have supported him. Let's get this donation process finished ! He is gone but will never be forgotten. Sincerely , Trent Meaux
