Move Mountains For Donna

This page has been created to help support my mom, Donna Gabriel. My mom is 62 years old and a mother of 7 children, grandmother to 10 grandkids. She is an amazing woman who has seen her share of life’s trials.This month marked the 3 year anniversary of being cancer free from the breast cancer she developed in the fall of 2014. My mom went through a bilateral mastectomy, lymph node removal as well as other medical surgeries to get her to where she was able to be active and healthy. She fought cancer with all she had and pulled through by the grace of God. A little over a week ago things took a turn no one was expecting. Routine blood work showed that her white blood cell count had fallen drastically low and she was set up for a bone marrow biopsy. The biopsy was done, blood was drawn and it has been determined that she has acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that is chemo related from her breast cancer treatment. The drug that was given to cure her breast cancer is now threatening to take her away from our family. My mom has been admitted to Dana Farber to begin another grueling chemo treatment, but now for leukemia. After the chemo shows improvement in her white blood cell count, she will go through a bone marrow transplant. Her hospital stay this time will be 4 to 6 weeks. My mom had recently started a new job and has not accumulated sick time nor will she have income coming in since it will be some time before she can return to work. My mom hadn’t recovered financially from the cost of her breast cancer and now she is faced with additional, mounting expenses.The goal of this page is to raise enough money to help her relieve some of the financial stress and burden so she can focus solely on getting better and beating this cancer! I ask that you please give as you can to help get her through this. Thank you in advance for all your help and support. I know that relieving the financial burden or at least minimizing it will take a lot of stress off her and help tremendously. She would also appreciate prayers as she fights this battle.
