Help me attend GDC & compose for games!

Donation protected
Greetings! My name is Emmanuel Lagumbay, and I thrive off of providing an acoustical journey to those that seek music. Recently, I attended GameSoundCon, a conference which provided seminars and workshops for those interested in video game audio. Through them, I received an expo pass to GDC: Next, a branch off the Game Developer Conference in San Francisco.

At GDC: Next, I was able to network a bit and gain experience in the video game industry. However, that is only the beginning. I was told that the main conference in San Francisco is exponentially larger than the one held in LA. Everyone said that if I wanted to be a part of the industry, this is where I would have to go to learn from the best, and acquire work. After the life-changing experiences I had at GDC: Next, I wasn't going to question the call to fulfilling my thirst as a video game composer.

The dates for GDC are March 17th - March 21st.

Here is where the problem lies: A ticket for an Audio Pass (allowing me to attend all audio sessions and an audio boot camp) costs $695 for 5 days. I'm part of an organization that may be able to bring that down by $50, putting the ticket to $645.

To stay at a hotel from Sunday to Saturday will cost anywhere from $120-$400 a night (depending on how soon I can book, and how close to the convention center I can get).

Then, of course, flying to San Francisco from Southern California will cost around $400 round trip. Man, I wish I had a flying mount.

Attending this conference has the potential to help me really sneak my foot into the door of the video game industry. As of now, I've really only been able to compose tunes for my own personal fun. I've been approached by a few YouTube channels to help with music for their videos, but have yet to directly become a part of the gaming industry. I'm certain that attending this conference will help me better my skills, and really take my abilities to entertain audiences to the next level.

All rewards will be given out before or during the summer of 2014. This will allow me time to actually work on providing you ALL quality art for your time and money.

Any excess funds will go directly toward the expansion of my studio (Studio monitors, updated sound libraries, advanced sound cards, and recording hardware).
