Dear Family and Friends,

I am sending this letter to you and your family to explain what I will be doing when I pack my bags, leave the "county" and jump on an international flight halfway across the world. This plane will take me to a city called Townsville, located in Queensland, Australia! I am so excited to be taking this journey with an organization called YWAM (Youth With A Mission). I have been accepted into a six-month program called Reef to Outback DTS (Discipleship Training School). This adventure will enable me to grow and strengthen my faith, as well as acknowledge and receive perspective of different lifestyles, blessings and struggles around the world. It will also allow me to travel and experience new places and cultures before I attend university while gaining practical experience in both outreach and mission work. In all honestly, I believe God has guided me towards this experience and that overseas outreach as a future lifestyle or career may be in the plan for me so I am taking these six months to dedicate my life to what I believe I am called to do.

My experience will be spilt into two major phases. First, the Lecture Phase where I will be based in Townsville and living with a group of students receiving daily lessons and presentations from YWAM staff and leaders. These people will come from around the globe to encourage and help me open my heart, challenge my mind, and inspire me to act. "˜Reef to Outback DTS' is a pretty literal title because during this phase I will experience different aspects of Australia from the world famous Great Barrier Reef and beautiful Australian coast to camping in the rugged outback. (Please take a minute to picture me sleeping in a tent, unable to shower for two weeks and being surrounded by some of the world's most dangerous snakes and spiders. At this time feel free to laugh or pray, either is an acceptable response).

The second phase, is something I am probably the most excited about. I will be sent to another country for an outreach mission and be face to face with some things I have only ever experienced from the pages of National Geographic hanging on my bedroom wall. This portion of my trip is focused on empowering young people, working with the poor, sick, and disadvantaged in remote locations and building up the local communities. Because YWAM is a such a huge organization with many field partners I could find myself walking through the rainforests of Papua New Guinea, hearing the voices of children singing in Thailand or Indonesia, visiting villages deep in the island of Fiji or sailing on a ship into remote villages in need of health care. YWAM's region extends from Australia into the Pacific Islands, and out toward Southeast Asia so I will have the opportunity to travel almost anywhere for my outreach phase. Two major places I personally am leaning towards are Papua New Guinea, and Thailand. I am thrilled to have the chance to bring hope and life to those who are in great need, share my faith and focus my time away from myself and towards others but also learn from every individual I come into contact with no matter where I go.

I wrote this letter to share my excitement and a glimpse of my experience with you but also because I am in need of your support in more ways than one. My hope is that you would consider supporting me financially. However, though my financial need is great, if you choose to not support me in this way, I will be equally blessed by your thoughts and prayers! If you are interested in being a key part of this experience here are a few ways you can do so:

Prayer Support "“ for things such as; travel, safety, strength, wisdom, discernment, relationship, personal and spiritual growth, empathy, compassion and love

Financial Support "“ to help cover the cost of approximately $15,000. If you would like to support me in funding my journey there are many different ways to do so.

1. Online - YWAM has an official, and straightforward donation option where you can directly send support my way by simply selecting "˜student' as the payment type, "˜other payment/donation' under DTS as the student type and typing my name "˜Bree Kerr' as the recipient.

2. Online - I also have set up an online "" account where donations can be made with a little more explanation of what I will be doing and is just a simple click away.

3. WANT TO MAKE ME WORK FOR IT? - Visit my Facebook page to see all of the different fundraising options that I am doing including dances, toilet pranks, fifty dollar raffle boards, bracelets, fresh canned homemade jellies and jams, Christmas ornaments and much, much more!

Thank you so much for your time and interest in my upcoming trip! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me! I can easily explain for hours who, what, where, when, why, how and everything in between.

Peace, love and until next time, Bree
