Helping Out John Ventura

On March 7th John Ventura was run off the road and had to be cut out of the car he was driving. He has a very long road to recovery with many operations. If you are interested in visiting please contact him and see if he is ready for visitors. It's different by day and they are "working on him" a lot so you want to make sure that he's going to be there if you are making the effort to see him. Right now he's still at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. Soon he will be moved to the Fair Oaks Kaiser Rehab facility while his bones set and heal a bit before surgery in a few weeks.

The low down: He's ok'd me to put up the pictures that John had Steve take the other day so I will do that later. He told me that the air bags in the Lexus probably saved his life (there's a lot of them). So far he's had a total hip replacement, a nerve block on that, his left arm was broken in several places and there was a very lengthy surgery and more titanium than the Dr. thought he would be able to use on his left arm. His right arm is fine (thank God). I believe he's also had an operation on his femur and as you will see in the pictures, both of his ankles have been crushed & set with rods (this will be the bulk of the rehab - the legs and ankles). Finally he has several broken ribs on both sides. They are moving and it is very painful which causes his oxygen to drop and the nurses to get nervous and check on him (may all be a ploy to get the nurses to come in - unconfirmed as of yet - LOL)
