Benjamin Pollak's Journey
Raising Money to help with the expenses of having a child with special needs. We travel to Nemours/DuPont Children's Hospital which takes a toll on us because we live about an hour and a half from there. Not including all the other doctors we see a week and everything else required for Benjamin. Benjamin is also needed extensive genetic testing with will cost over $7,000 if we cant convince his insurance that this is a medical need.

A little about Ben.
Benjamin Pollak was born on August 7th 2013. He was born at 36 weeks weighing 5 lbs 1 oz. He has had open heart surgery at 8 weeks old to fix 2 Vsd holes and 1 Asd hole. He had his pulmonary widened and patched along with his tricuspid valve patched. He has hyper inflated lungs, tachypnea, pectus, along with tracheobronchomalacia. He has a feeding tube (gtube) due to failure to thrive in childhood. He has a genetic disorder but we are not sure what without further testing. He has surgery dec 20th 2013 for Gtube, nissen, hernia, and testicle repair. we are informed that ben's groin area didnt not fully develop. We are told he has an abnormal heart, that the valves are very thick and unusual. They do not know if he will need further surgery on his heart but he will possibly need a valve replacement in the future. He has other issues as well but they have either been fixed or not as concerning as the heart, breathing, and not eating issues. On 1/29/2014 we found out Benjamin has cataracts in both eyes and can not see. So they plan on doing surgery 2/3/2014 to remove them. It is important they are removed due to they can make him go blind and affect his brain development.
