Braden Pickles Hospital Stay

Donation protected
Our buddy Braden is so so very sick. After multiple ER visits and misdiagnosis, he has now been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Here is a short breakdown of what that means:

Very rare. Fewer than 20,000 US cases per yearTreatment can help. Requires a medical diagnosisLab tests or imaging often requiredMedium-term: resolves within months. The condition may be triggered by an acute bacterial or viral infection. Symptoms start as weakness and tingling in the feet and legs that spread to the upper body. Paralysis can occur. Special blood treatments (plasma exchange and immunoglobulin therapy) can relieve symptoms. Physical therapy is needed.

Braden, unfortunately, is suffering from the worst of the symptoms that come along with this disease. He is currently in the critical care unit and on a very extensive blood filtering treatment. The doctors are working very hard to get him well, but he does have a very long road ahead of him. He is currently on a ventilator and staying pretty sedated to keep comfortable. His parents of course have not left his side. We all know what that means for finances and all the other things in life that don’t take a break when our babies are sick. This of course is the last thing on their minds, but I know many have reached out wanting to know how to help. So please, if you could find it in your hearts to reach out and lend a helping hand in their time of need. I know they will be eternally grateful. All proceeds will go directly to Crystal and Justin and Alex
