Our family has suffered a GREAT loss! My sister, Shannon Montgomery, was killed in her yard trying to protect her family dog from someone trespassing on their property. She leaves behind three wonderful children and two beautiful grandchildren. The family was not prepared for this life altering event and we need all the help you can offer to make her send off a nice one.
We have all talked about what she was probably thinking as the events were unfolding. She was a loving and trusting person. She never thought the gunman would actually pull the trigger if she stepped in front of him to protect her family dog. In this case, she was wrong by giving the benefit of the doubt. Several family members have all said that we would have probably done the same thing and thought the same thing that we think she must have thought in her final moments. This was such a senseless act of violence. She has left this earth way too early.
