Relief Efforts for Puerto Rico

Donation protected
As most of you know, I live in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where our beautiful island was recently ravaged by hurricane Maria. The storm hit in the early morning hours of September 20th and conditions on the island have drastically decreased since then. FEMA has been on the ground helping to rescue trapped individuals and those who have lost everything. Shelters have been set up and food, water & supplies are being provided. Sadly, it still isn't enough. We prepared as best we could, but are quickly running out of supplies. Here is a message I recently sent to friends/family members explaining the situation on the island:

"The conditions here are absolutely deplorable. No power since Tuesday 9/19, no water since Wednesday 9/20, no cell service since Thursday 9/21. Water came back over the weekend for a few small areas, thank God. We were collecting water from a fresh water stream outside and using it to bathe, wash dishes and flush the toilet. Ran out of perishable food on Thursday bc there's no ice left on the island to keep anything cold. Few grocery stores have generators so the lines to enter are hours long. Once inside, shelves are bare with limited viable options. Gas is also a huge problem. Very few gas stations have gas and those that do have lines that require 12 hour wait times. It's best to get your spot around 2am and you wait all day until a fuel truck comes by to fill up the station. If you're not in line early, it's a waste of time bc you'll never get gas. People are getting so desperate, panic is starting to set in. Additionally, there are thousands of people who still have not been rescued from their homes. Starving to death, dying of heat stroke and dehydration. People with medical needs are being turned away from hospitals because they have no power to treat them. Patients with prescriptions are unable to fill them because pharmacies are closed. Homes, buildings, infrastructures and landscapes have been completely demolished. Our roadways are so full of debris it's like driving through an obstacle course. Why am I telling you all of this? Idk what the media coverage has been like, but this has been my life for the past week and it's only going to get worse. When get back to the mainland I'm going to coordinate efforts to send relief to my family and friends here on the island. There's not much I can do locally as all stores are tapped out, ATMs don't work (due to lack of electricity & internet) and getting around is tough with limited gas supply. I would appreciate ANYTHING you all can do to help. I'll provide more details as to what you can do when I'm back. Till then, keep praying for Puerto Rico and hopefully I'll see you all soon!"

Thank GOD I was able to get a flight out of PR and am now safely in Ohio. I need ALL OF YOUR HELP and urgently! Please donate whatever you can. All donations will be used to buy food, medicine and other vital supplies to keep our fellow Americans afloat during this time of crisis.

Thank you!!!
