Shelley’s Memorial Fund

Hello everyone, I know many people know what is going on with my mother Shelley Zipfel but for those of you who don’t know this is what happened. Early Sunday morning she was found unresponsive on the ground not breathing. She went into a full cardiac arrest. The EMS workers revived her in the ambulance where she was taken to St. Vincent hospital in Toledo. She was then put on a breathing machine and sedated with a cold IV drip to help her brain and the rest of her organs recover. They then slowly warmed her body back up and then cut the sedation off. We were very hopeful that then she would wake up but she never did. With her body being without oxygen for so long her body produced so much toxic acid that it could not fight it off. It then slowly started shutting down her kidneys and liver. Her heart was also only working at about 50% as well. The St. Vincent medical staff were more than outstanding and helpful during this whole process and did everything they could to wake her up but at that point only a miracle could wake her up. Today my family and I came to the agreement to let her off the breathing machine and let nature run its course with the help of some medication to make it as comfortable and pain free as possible. My family and I all were all alongside her during this process and I know she knew we were there with her. She passed around 8:15 Wednesday night March 7th. This fund is for expenses that every family unfortunately has to go through when a loved one passes away. We all want to remember Shelley in the best possible way and I feel like this is the best way for anyone that feels willing enough to help. I just want to say thank you to everyone for their continued love and support to our family at this time. Fly high Shelley!
