Dolores Reyez Funeral Expense Fund

My grandmother, Dolores Reyez passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018. She was 94 years old and the love of my life. The last time I saw my Grams, she was just as healthy as any other day. She was fidgeting with my shoelaces, telling me they were too long, and talking to me about life. It was just like any other day. She seemed strong and healthy. The next day I received a call at 9:50 that she was unresponsive. I rushed to the hospital and didn’t see her alive again. I never thought it would happen so suddenly. It’s hard to deal with this hardship at this time. Every summer since I was a small child I’ve spent with her. I uprooted my life four years ago to live with and care for her. She was the most important person in my life. I’ve never known a love so pure or a pain so great. My heart hurts so much and is heavy. My life is forever changed after yesterday. She had made arrangements at Rose Hills Cemetery; however, some of the expenses including embalming, viewing and transportation weren’t covered. We were under the impression that it was all taken care of, only to find out that the expenses would equal 6,000.00 USD. We’re currently looking for more affordable options, and are asking any of our friends for help in any way possible. My grandmother was a great, strong woman and we want to see her receive the respect that she deserves. We’ve exhausted all other options.Thank you for your time. Alejandro Delacruz and family.
