Heather Jernigan’s Journey

Heather Jernigan is a HUC/Tech in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Studor Family Children’s Hospital in Pensacola, FL. Recently she was diagnosed with cancer (I’m not saying what kind because it’s not my place). The original plan was to remove it but after scans were done, it was determined that the tumor was too big to operate on. So now she will be going through aggressive chemo and radiation to kill the cells. She currently works a lot of overtime to provide her children with everything they need. As radiation will be 5 times a week and chemo once, she will no longer be able to work as much. She plans to continue working through treatment despite the nasty side effects of it all. I am creating this account in order to help alleviate the financial stress on her so she can take her family medical leave (which only pays 50% of vase pay) and not have to worry about money. The goal is $3k, a thousand for each month she will be out. I think it’s important for her to know that we care about her and that she doesn’t have to continue to be this strong person. That it’s ok to lean on someone else for help every once in awhile.
