Help Hashbrown!

Hello friends! I would normally never do anything like this, but here we are. My cat Hashbrown has had issues with chronic mega colon his entire life, and it has gotten to a point where he really isn’t able to take a poo on a regular basis. Before, I was able to just up his dose of miralax or take him to the vet for an enema. His colon is now too stretched out, that even that is not helping. My choices are both pretty extreme, I could give him another week or two and see how he does, but since he has had to go to the emergency vet 2 times already this month for manual poo extraction, I don’t think he would have much time left to live a humane life. He is such a happy and sweet cat otherwise, so I have scheduled him for a subtotal colectomy tomorrow. They will remove a portion of his colon, removing the overly stretched organ so he can live his life pooping like a normal cat, and will most likely feel better than before. The surgery will be at least $4,000.00, though it could be a little more. If anyone has even a few dollars to spare, I would appreciate a million times over. This cat has been with me since 2011, moved around 4 different states, and always knows when I’m feeling down and need some cuddles. After a year of trying to figure out different foods and meds, getting x rays and ultrasounds and bloodwork etc, I am so hopeful this will give him a much better quality of life and many more happy Hashbrown years, maybe even being allowed to have more snacks that I would usually not give him due to the mega colon.
