Hello!
My name is Luke Hellyer. I am a Junior at George Mason University, I am a Film and Video Studies major with minors in Photography and Sociology.
I was recently accepted to a program at the Cannes Film Festival that places me with a Production Company in which I will complete an Internship during the festival.
This program has placed interns at Paramount and A24, among others.
Having the chance to do something like this is huge. The Cannes Film Festival is the most prestigious film festival in the world, and, honestly, I can't even believe that I have the chance to go and get the chance to jump-start my career there.
Being able to do this would mean the world to me. By being able to attend this festival, I would be able to rub elbows with some of the highest-ranking filmmakers in the world. I wouldn't be able to do it otherwise.
Now, let's talk about the money that I am asking for:
The program fee was initially $3,599. The program offered me $800 to offset the fee. So that brought it down to $2,799.
But, I am asking for $3,799. Why is that?
The flight is not covered in the cost of the program fee. Hence why I am asking for help in offsetting that. The amount I am asking for will offset the travel fee.
Now in terms of when I need this funding by, I need to have this money fully raised by March 26th, 2018.
Not a lot of time, I know, but, I have full confidence and faith in the Lord that, if my attending a film festival in France is His will, the money will be raised.
This is such an incredible chance for me to start my career in film production and be able to follow my dreams of being able to create and tell stories through the medium of film.
I humbly and graciously ask you to consider donating to help my dreams come true. If you can’t afford to, I would love to invite you to pray for me!
