Our Dads funeral expenses

In the end of February 2018, our dad Kevin was diagnosed with stage four metastasized lung cancer that has spread to multiple parts of his body (including bones, liver, gallbladder and 6 tumours on his brain) and our family was completely devastated.
He had been misdiagnosed since August 2017 with pneumonia that wasn’t responding to antibiotics and pain and “calcium build-up” from arthritis. Little did we know that he had cancer.
Seeing our dad who was usually so strong and always joking around become so fragile was hard. He was in so much pain from the many tumours taking over his body and his discomfort was barely relieved from even the strongest pain medications. His largest tumour was on his left lung and it protruded so much it broke a rib.
His liver started to fail due to tumours blocking his bile ducts and as a result he became badly jaundiced and in severe abdominal pain. His body was unable to flush out toxins which made him more sick.
He had memory loss and confusion from his brain tumours which caused increasing anxiety. He would have delusions of things that never happened and often forgot where he was. Worst of all he started to forget us slowly.
Eventually he lost the ability to walk, talk and eat. He rapidly lost energy, eventually sleeping more than he was awake.
We found out in the middle of
March, only a few weeks after his diagnoses, that his cancer was not responding to treatment and it was only getting worse.
The doctors decided it was best to discontinue any further treatment and keep him comfortable, for as long as we could. There were no other options for him.
34 days after we found out that our dad had cancer, he passed away with us holding his hands and playing him his favourite music. The last song he heard was “Hey Jude” by the Beatles.
Our family is asking for some support.
Originally we created this gofundme to help with costs while our dad was in the hospital. It hurts now to update it to help not only with living costs but for his funeral costs as well.
It will be hard to say goodbye and to properly honour the man who has been the foundation of our entire lives.
Our mom is amazingly strong and she’s been through a lot. She was widowed in her twenties and recently lost her own father last May.
She is now the sole provider for our family in many ways.
She has been incredibly brave through everything because she always worries about us. Now we are worried about her.
The stress of struggling to pay bills, the mortgage and taking care of three teenagers still at home, combined with the loss of her husband has been extremely hard for her. She is extremely stressed and worried for the future.
It’s painful to lose our dad and watch our mom grieve for him and the life they had together. There is only so much we can do to help her other than love her and ask for your prayers and support.
We hate to ask for help but anything that you can donate towards households costs, bills and funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated.

He was a beloved father to four daughters and wonderful husband and the best grandpa in the world (words from his 7 year old grandson).
