My name is David Northrup I’m a Nashville based Touring / Studio Drummer, Educator, Clinician and Producer. I’ve had the great privilege of working with some incredible artists in my 25-year career including Boz Scaggs, John Waite, The James Brown Horns, John Mellencamp, Les Dudek, and The Disco Biscuits; and Country Artists The Legendary Oak Ridge Boys, Wynonna, Travis Tritt, Joe Diffie, Tanya Tucker, Jo De Messina, Jo-El Sonnier, Pam Tillis, Lee Greenwood, Gene Watson, Connie Smith, and many others.
I was voted number Two Country Drummer in the prestigious Modern Drummer Readers Poll, and Clinician of the year in 2009 and 2010.
A goal of my career has been to release a solo Jazz Instrumental CD project. Several years ago I went to New Orleans and personally funded several recording sessions with Grammy Award Winning Producer and world class Guitarist, Shane Theriot, who connected me with Legendary Bassist, George Porter Jr. from the Meters, and The crescent city’s finest Jazz Pianist, David Torkonowsky. This all resulted in some seriously exceptional tracks.
Unfortunately, due to the busyness of my career, and lack of funding, I had to to set aside this project, which remains unfinished. Right now, I have the time and drive to finally put a cherry on top of my lifelong dream. All that's left to do is lay down just FOUR additional tracks. Of course, I'll need to come up with funding for studio time, engineering, paying musicians, as well as post production mixing and mastering. Once the tracks are completed, printing and duplicating the physical product, and marketing expenses will also be required.
The donation goal is $7,000. Any amount pledged above that will be used to upgrade the project.

The First $2500 or more: CD, Drumhead, Drumsticks and a Gretsch USA Custom Solid Steel 5X14 Snare Drum used on the recording project. All items personally signed. (Only one drum available)
