So many people have reached out to ask what happened in Gavin's final days...

As most of you know Gavin was an avid golfer. After discovering numbness in his shoulder and arm, which was affecting his enjoyment of the game, inJune of 2015, Gavin was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor.

The neurosurgeons advised Gavin and Kim that the tumor be removed immediately due to its rare nature and unpredictability. In the end, their inexperience with this type of tumor proved catastrophic.

Gavin went into surgery on July 30th. The family was told he would be in the hospital 4-6 days, and recovery would be minimal. However, complications and errors made during the surgery changed the family's lives forever. Gavin was in the intensive care unit for 2 months, with another month in the physical therapy wing before being released home.
Post surgery, Gavin lost his ability to regulate his heart function, blood pressure, ability to breath without oxygen, to swallow, to eat, to speak, and to see clearly. He was declared legally blind and severely disabled. He suffered a tracheotomy, spinal fluid leakage, an infection which lead to mersa, and a second brain surgery to flush the infection and install mesh to combat the spinal fluid leakage. The mersa spread to his lungs and his body became septic. At times, his family and friends were unable to visit with him without wearing protective equipment and masks.
After aproximately 90 days, Gavin was sent home to deal with physical therapy, hospice, hospital visits, constant oxygen, and the dependency of others. Gavin's two young daughters watched as he was forced to inject his medications, liquids and nutrition by syringe. Due to his autonomic disorder and the inability to maintain his oxygen levels at a heathy level, Gavin would suffer multiple seizures and unconciousness daily. In the end, the quality of his own life, and that of his family's, was errevocably changed forever. Gavin was faced with the harsh reality of being disabled for life.

He smiled at the thought of playing golf at the special olympics, with Dustin Stein as his Caddy. He cheated, and enjoyed the occasional cookie or doughnut even though it lead to asperated pneumonia.

The last six months of his life were extremely brutal, and against doctor's wishes, he continued to work to help support his family, which he loved with all his heart. He tried so hard for his wife and children, but his body was against him at every corner.  His number one regret was removing a tumor that was postulated to have been there his whole life.

Bella and Khloe will always be his most cherished creations, and the world suffers in the loss of a true friend and beautiful soul. Finally, the stress on his body and heart lead to his third heart attack and untimely death on Valentine's Day 2016 at 9:20 am.

Thank you all for your love and support! The family has some hard decisions to make and is left with an insurmountable financial burden. Each donation will help Gavin's three most cherished treasures find the ability to get through this time of grief and financial struggle, knowing they are not alone, and are loved.

Gavin Law you will be truly missed!
