Yonas Kiflemariam

Dear Sir/Madame, As you may have already known, it was devastating to learn our brother Yonas Kiflemariam Ghebrekristos has tragically passed away in Sweden, after a brief illness. Yonas was just 39. Sadly, Yonas was the only child to his mother. His father, Kiflemariam Ghebrekristos, left to join the struggle for independence of Eritrea before Yonas was born. He was martyred in 1978 in the battle of Salina, Massawa. His mother Tsega stayed unmarried, raising her only child child, Yonas. Growing up in Kidane-Mihret, Shuk, Asmara, Yonas strove throughout his life, graduating from Asmara University and working as a teacher and later as assistant director. However, after he left Eritrea, he couldn’t secure status for 6 years, waiting in a limbo until he tragically passed away on February 14th, 2018. His body was sent to Eritrea and he was buried on February 24th, 2018. Yonas has left a wife and two children in Eritrea. We are reaching out to you all to, humbly, ask you for donation to raise funds to help Yonas’s grieving family since he left a young wife with twins and widowed mother. A lot of Yonas’s friends and acquaintances are volunteering to help and it was duly suggested to set up the gofundme donation page.
