I have the opportunity to travel to Haiti in January. Since January 2010, we have held a prayer meeting every Wednesday at 4am for Haiti. Both worship teams I have been on have lead these prayer meetings. Fishers of Men ministries in Port-au-Prince, Haiti have had daily morning prayer for many years, and each week we literally get to pray for Haiti with Haiti. In June, I got involved with Haitian Pearl, a group at IHOPKC which focuses on God's purposes for Haiti and raising up intercessors for and within Haiti. (www.haitianpearl.org)
We will mainly serve with Fishers of Men ministries. (www.fomhaiti.org). We will serve through prayer and going on various outreaches, such as at orphanages and in the prison. We will also strengthen current relationships with other ministries and identify others we want to partner with in the future. Personally, I also want to gain understanding of God's desires, thoughts, and feelings for Haiti through this trip.
