Ranger Gil Schweiger Help A Good Man

Donation protected

"You can't eat the orange, and throw the peel away" words that were never more fitting.

This man said he would rather have you donate to others than for his benefit because that is just the type of man he is, but that is why we should donate to this cause and share it amongst our friends and families because even Heroes need help sometimes.

So lets help this hero find a home for his family and pets. Any donation and ever share helps.

The Travesty: On February 17, 2018, one of New York’s best Boy Scout Camp Rangers was dismissed from his employment as Camp Ranger after 18 years of service (7 years short of his pension). Ranger Gil Schweiger or Ranger Gil as all the camp goers, parents, and scouts refer to him as was terminated and ordered to vacate his camp provided residence within 30 days.

30 days was all that was given to a man that has dedicated over 50 years of his life to the Boy Scouts, 30 days to leave a home that he spent 18 years in. A home where he rescued countless animals such as wounded deer, dogs, kittens and such, a home where he was practically on call 24/7 since it was located in the camp itself. This man was so dedicated to the camp and its visitors that he has let hundreds of vacation days expire, in fact he has not taken a vacation in over a decade. Now with less than 30 days to go and no income Ranger Gil has to struggle to find a new job, a new home for him, his wife, and there dogs. To make matters worse and kick a good man when he is down, his Boy Scout Troop, Troop 43 had its charter disbanded upon his termination. Some suspect that these actions were motivated by the local councils goals to sell the camp’s Camporee field for a tidy sum of money and knowing that Ranger Gil would be against diminishing the grounds for which he poured is life into.

Charity: When Ranger Gil is not doing something for the camp he often dedicates his time to charity work such as Masonic food drives to ensure that homeless food pantries are stocked during the holidays and that homeless children have a proper meal, he also raises funds for the Shriners Children’s hospitals.

Hurricane Sandy:
When disaster strikes Gil is there to help any in need! This was the case when Hurricane Sandy stuck Staten Island. During the peak of storm Ranger Gil led a group down to the flooded neighborhoods of Staten Island. He and his scouts utilized Pouch Camp row boats to paddle to people’s houses and evacuate them to safety. In all Ranger Gil and his scouts rescued over 125 people during that storm.

He is truly a modern day hero but even heroes need help sometimes. He is a proud man, not one for the spot light and would never ask for anything and that is why we must do what we can to help him in his time of need. If you can help with anything please donate and share this story as this is truly for a good cause of helping a selfless man that has helped some many. God Bless.
