Funeral Expenses For Damas McCreery

On February 18th my beautiful Grandma Damas McCreery was unexpectedly taken from this world. We were assured by all doctors that she was coming home and just had the flu. She looked healthy after surviving a stroke and made incredible progress. Unfortunately instead of bringing her back home we will now be planning a funeral. The antibiotics and her hospital stay had exposed her to a preventable nursing home disease called c-diff that went unnoticed and untreated that ultimately ended her life 3 days later. Due to the fact that we thought she was coming home we are in complete shock and were not prepared in any way to process this tragedy or pay for funeral expenses. She served her country proudly and unfortunately all they can offer us is $300 for her burial expenses because HB refused to transfer her to va hospital now resulting in loss of benefits. She was a kind and generous women and was a momma to many. An amazing Grandma and great Grandma, she was the light in every room. She only had one child her daughter and my mother Elizabeth who has been left completely devastated and at a loss for what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
