As friends of the DaCosta family, we are trying to alleviate the financial strain of their newborn son's medical costs. Please help us support Lincoln and his recovery. 100% of your donation goes Mallory and David DaCosta.

On October 28, 2013, we welcomed Lincoln David DaCosta to the world. We had just come out of a three-year roller coaster with our beautiful daughter, Amelia, who was diagnosed early in life with a Congenital Heart Defect that ultimately required a permanent pacemaker implant at the age of two. Because this experience had been devastating and terrifying for all three of us, we were relieved to learn little Lincoln did not carry the same defect and was expected to be healthy in every way. He arrived to us a hearty 10lbs 3ozs. Two days into our hospital stay, however, Lincoln quickly became sick. He stopped eating and started shaking violently. He was rushed to the NICU at St. Charles and all we could think was, not again. They ran tests and prepared us for the far-too-familiar Air Life flight transport. Lincoln became acidotic, suffering internal bleeding within minutes. He arrived at Riverbend Sacred Heart NICU in Springfield, Oregon and was immediately whisked away to surgery. After an hour, the surgeon emerged to inform us that Lincoln suffered from a birth defect in his bowel, causing it and his colon to grow backwards and twist upon itself. The amount of pain and misery our baby was suffering was devastating. We were told that if we had waited moments more, our little Lincoln would most likely not be with us. He received exceptional care from amazing surgeons and doctors. They saved his life, but his road to recovery will be a long one. His tiny body must now learn to eat, digest, and eliminate food through his newly routed system. We are truly grateful for the love and support of everyone in our lives. It is with this incredible support that we can face each day with hope and strength for Lincoln.

All our gratitude,
David and Mallory DaCosta

The medical costs facing the DaCosta family for Lincoln's care are astronomical. They are still paying the medical costs for their daughter's care and Air Life transport from a year ago. Your help is needed. As friends of the DaCosta family, we have established this website and set a goal of raising $20,000 to help with this incredible financial stress. Any amount that you can give will help lead the way to achieving this goal so that the DaCosta family can focus on the health and recovery of their newborn son.

Thank you for your generous support,
