Ricky Tharp's Injury Fund

Please read entirely before making your decision to help or not. Ricky broke his leg at the knee while on a job in Mississippi on 2/1/18. He will be off work for atleast 3 months. Ricky has worked for the same great company since 1991 as a road mechanic on heavy equipment. He has sacrificed time with his family by working out of town anywhere from 50 - 70 hours a week. Ricky loves his job & the people he works with. Helping people has always been Ricky's nature. Ricky helps our neighbors, friends & family with anything he can. This injury not only effects his leg but his mental well being. It would any man. Not able to support his family & being stuck at home. 15 years ago he broke his neck on a job in Texas. At first he was completely paralyzed. Doctors told him he'd never work again. With the help of God answering our prayers & Ricky's determination to prove the doctors wrong he was able to return to work 6 months later. We barely survived on a weekly workman's comp check. We learned at that time how important it was to have a short term & long term disability policy in case anything happened in the future. We've been paying on disability policies ever since. So having these in place Ricky thought he would have enough to survive & keep the things he's worked so hard for. He was informed that neither of the policies will pay out on an injury that happened on the job. Ricky's workman's comp benefits are a third of his usual pay. No one ever said life was fair but is terribly unfair for someone like Ricky to risk losing what he has worked so hard for. Our family lives modestly with an average home & one vehicle. If you know Ricky, you know that he never ask for help but he (we) are asking now. Anything as little as $1 would be appreciated. Ricky has never asked for charity and will do anything he can to repay anyone that helps. Thank you for reading this long story and thank you in advance for any help you can give❤
