74 Sick Dogs Removed by Constable

Today, April 6, 2018, the Wilson County (Texas) Constable for Precinct 3 removed 74 malnourished and sick dogs from a property in La Vernia, Texas. This effort was led by Constable Curtis Fowler, Constable Talley, and Invesitgator Olivarez. Wilson County No Kill Animal Shelter was asked to assist and take custody of the dogs on behalf of the Constable. All of these dogs are sick and some are much worse than others. They appear to have mange, sores, lacerations, infections, various injuries, intestinal parasites, and are severely malnourished. We are in the process of taking an inventory of the dogs and getting them thoroughly assessed by a licensed veterinarian. We will also make a good faith effort to match dogs to their owners/rescues after they've been evaluated by the vet and their condition has been photographed and documented. We will also begin necessary medical treatment. This will be extremely costly given the condition of these dogs. Some are suffering terribly and may need to be humanely put down. We really need our community, friends, and families to help with donations for treatment of all these dogs. We will provide updates as this cases progresses, but the urgent need right now is funding for vet care. Please share this with everyone you know. If you prefer to donate via another method, please go directly to our Facebook page for additional always to donate. Thank you so much!
