Help Mick Clobber Cancer

For those of you that don’t know Mick Mansfield, he is a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. At the young age of 64, he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of liver cancer, known as hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Unfortunately, he is not a candidate for transplant due to the specific type of cancer. He will be starting treatment within the coming weeks to do all he can to fight this disease.
Due to complications from the liver cancer, he had to stop working. The cancer has caused what is known as esophageal varices- enlarged veins in the esophagus that can burst with heavy lifting. If unchecked, the internal bleeding can be deadly. As a shipping supervisor, he was lifting 50# or more. He only had short-term disability through work - 3 months pay at 60% of wages. Three weeks into this fight, the bills are already mounting. Even with insurance, the Y90 treatments (targeted radiation to attack the liver) alone are $1,200 each.
My sisters and I are creating this campaign to help our parents with the extra expenses during this time. We want their focus on being happy and healthy, not on their finances. As most fathers are to their daughters, he is our hero in every sense of the word. He is a big kid at heart with a love for comic books and is always making jokes to see others smile. As a talented musician, he has become a fixture in the Cleveland music scene and is loved by many. He has dedicated his life to music and helping others in need, and this time, it’s our turn to do the same for him.
