Caring for Catherine

Beautiful, Catherine Reid, just age 3, is my great niece.
On July 30th, 2013, our family's world was turned upside down when Catherine, who was only 2 at the time, was diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). She and her mother, Jaime (who never left her side), spent many weeks in Johns Hopkins Hospital enduring rounds of blood tests, surgeries and spinal chemo treatments.
Catherine is home now but facing several years of weekly appointments at Johns Hopkins checking her bone marrow and chemotherapy with the hope that at the end of the period she will be cured. Another chemo procedure is to start soon where she will be admitted to Hopkins for a 4 cycle treatment --- once a week - every 2 weeks - 4 times. Unfortunately the medical team guarantees it will probably make her ill and the stay could be 3-5 days depending upon how she reacts.
She's a brave little girl and many times very sick and in pain. She has an older sister, Evelyn, age 5 and a younger brother, Andrew, 18 months for comfort.
As in most of these cases, the mounting medical bills are over-whelming. Family and friends are working hard to give support, prayer and comfort to them.
While we can't take on Catherine's pain or the anguish of her parents, we can help by trying to raise funds to take part of that burden from them. We appreciate your donation and above all your prayers.
