Transport for Forrest!

Everyone knows that I’ve been through a lot and many of you have been there to help me. Getting that terminal prostate cancer diagnosis really turned my life upside down and, among other things, it has been a real financial struggle. The good news is that I’m financially stable now but my car broke down and it would’ve cost way more money to fix it than it was worth and I lost it just over a year ago. It’s been a long year without having any transport. Always having to ask friends for rides to get to the doctors office or in for testing or to the pharmacy. You’ve all been great with helping me, but it’s taxing and embarrassing to have to ask for help all the time. And there are other things, like physical therapy, that I could be doing if I only had transport of my own. And those are just medical needs. I haven’t been able to just get out of the house and go see a movie or my kids or go to the park. I always have to ask for help to go to the grocery or anywhere. Borrowing others transport is difficult because I’m sick. I can’t be reliable about it. I mean, you might need your car back at 4:00 and I might be throwing up somewhere and needing to go to sleep. My health can change like that on a dime and I don’t want to be a bother to anyone. I certainly don’t need anything fancy. Maybe a year long lease or so or a $3000 reliable something that doesn’t suck down gas and isn’t going to need new tires and brakes and stuff anytime soon. I really do hate coming to you and having to ask for your help again, but I’ve been trying to fix this for over a year on my own and just haven’t gotten anywhere. I’m an adventurous spirit and need to get out and explore and play while I still can. I don’t have a lot of life left to live, but I don’t want to spend it alone and stuck at home like I have been over the past year. I’m feeling a bit better and really want to take advantage of this while I can, but I can’t do it without your help. Please, help me. Set me free. Give me back a little freedom and independence while I can still take advantage of it. Let me get to my doctor appointments and see my kids and take myself to the park from time to time. Make it possible for me to do radiation again when that comes up (radiation is a daily thing and without transport I wouldn’t even be able to go). Help me to feel more like a normal person. I know it’s a big ask, but every little bit helps and having transport would totally change my life... and, of course, if you just have an extra car that you aren’t using that I could just hold on to and keep clean for you for a while, that’d be great, too. If you’ve got a collection of exotic sports cars, maybe you wouldn’t miss one too bad for a while. I can make sure you get it back ;) So, thank you in advance for any help that you can swing my way. I’m not trying to be selfish, I really am just trying to live the best life that I can while I still can, and right now what I really need is some freedom. Some independence.
