My 9 month old dog Rocky started throwing up profusely about 3 weeks ago, after him throwing up about 10 times in one night we decided to take him to the vet.  When we took him they took X rays and said that they found a large foreign object in his stomach, that night we took him home and after about an hour he couldn’t move a muscle, the next morning we took him back and they did more tests and that night he ended up passing half of a leather belt. At that point he hadent eaten in a whole week. We took him home that night thinking he was fine but he wasent getting better or eating like he should have been. The next day we took him to the emergency vet, they did more x rays and blood work and found that he had cellulytous. They told us that most of the time that is caused by contamination of a needle or fluid bag, means the vet we took him to previously reused a needle or fluid bag on him which caused the infection. They put 2 tubes coming out of his chest to try to drain the infection, when we took him back to the vet they kept it in for a whole week when it’s only supposed to be kept in for no more than 3 days. Once they took it out they sent him home with two holes in his chest with no bandage or stitching. We knew that couldn’t be right and his back started to harden and swell so we took him to a new vet, they immediately wrapped the wound and took a culture because it looked infected. We’ve had to go back everyday for them to re wrap it and give him antibiotics, the culture came back and it is one of the most rare infections that can’t be treated with an antibiotic, he has to go back this week to get his surgery done to clean out the dark tissue and for them to see what tissue will survive and what won’t, they will most likely have to do this procedure multiple times so I’m raising money to try to get him through this, every penny counts!
