Help Dan Fight Lyme Disease

Donation protected
In March 2013 Dan, his wife Amy, son Christopher and daughter Charlotte were involved in a severe auto accident when a drunk driver struck their stopped car. Dan’s immediate actions saved his daughter’s life. His wife and son recovered but Dan sustained head injuries that resulted in constant fatigue and depression. Treatment helped and, while his life was not back to normal, Dan described it as “livable”.

In June 2017 Dan had a further setback when he was bitten by ants causing a life-threatening infection. The mass quantities of antibiotics and steroids saved his life but his immune system was virtually destroyed. Dan has been diagnosed with Lyme, Bartonella, Mold Toxicity, and industrial chemical toxicity. His daily life now includes chronic joint and stomach pain, headaches, breaking out in heavy sweats,
and severe muscle fatigue. Restful sleep is rare and concentration is very difficult.

Like many who suffer from these diseases, the Nafes are on their own regarding the cost of treatment as most health insurers do not cover chronic illnesses. The medical procedures involved in Dan’s case will be performed by doctors in Clearwater, FL and will likely exceed $150k. For four months Dan will be staying on-site in a sterile condo adding another $20k. We believe our community can and will remove this financial burden.

Dan is a devoted husband, father and friend who would gladly offer his life to save the life of others. This was demonstrated by serving with distinction in combat units of the Marine Corps. His passion for teaching and training others have resulted in Dan becoming certified as a respected SCUBA instructor, flight instructor, NRA firearms instructor and leader of a local congregation. He has been employed for the past 7 years as a Database Architect and earned much recognition among his peers.

Please take these four steps in supporting Dan and his family...

1. Make a generous donation now, here via GoFundMe
2. Pray - For Dan’s healing. For his family to be strengthened. That God will be honored throughout this process.
3. Share Dan’s story with friends, relatives and clients (we need some large donors).
4. Promote the upcoming family fundraiser at Walking Tree Brewery on Sunday, May 6th, from 4-7pm.
We need some great silent auction items, trips, services.
