Dean Riewald Familia

Dean Riewald is an Air Force veteran and current Navy Region Europe, Africa, Southwest Asia Fire Chief who has dedicated his life to serving others. Now, he and his family need our support. On Sunday, February 4, 2018, Dean suffered a sudden and severe stroke while living in Naples, Italy. He is still hospitalized in Italy, as the doctors and Dean's family work to determine what comes next - including possibly a costly medical evacuation flight back to the United States. Please consider giving to support Dean, his wife Aki, and four children during this difficult time, so they can focus all of their time and efforts on helping Dean begin the road to recovery.

UPDATE:
 It is with extreme sadness that our great friend, mentor and Region Fire Chief Dean Riewald, passed away last night. After suffering from a severe stroke, Dean fought hard for 2 weeks, but eventually succumbed to complications too hard for his body to overcome. Our hearts ache with pain, but we will stay strong for his family. We love you Dean...rest in peace.
