Wendy Boone Nurse in Medical Need

Donation protected
My name is Wendy. I am a home health nurse and very sick. In February 2010, I had a hernia surgery where they put mesh inside of me. In August 2010 I was in and out of the hospital, being told there was nothing wrong with me. In October 2010, I was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery for bowel obstruction. During May 2011 through 2013, I had multiple hospital emergency room visits with week long stays at times to undo non operable obstructions, no surgeries during this time all leading to an emergency surgery taking place June 2014 where my I had emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction and then July 2014 part of my colon removed causing me to be terminated from my job as I was out of work for too long due to recovery. I started working a new job in September 2014 for two weeks and started having nerve pain, weakness and nausea. At this time, I started seeing multiple specialists and was told I needed to be on bedrest. I then attempted to go back to work with hospice in May 2015 and was able to work until April 2016 and ended up with a secondary bowel obstruction causing me to be admitted until June 2016 for recovery. I then started a new job and worked with only a few illnesses until April 2017. I started getting sick again, went to Mayo via a referral and found out the mesh that was placed 2010, needed to be removed via emergency surgery. I am left with severe nerve entrapment damage, iron deficiency anemia which I have iron infusions for and full restrictions of no work at this time until further notice. I am being told I need to have abdominal wall reconstruction this year. I suffer daily, around the clock from pain, nausea, and vomiting. I have to go back to the specialist in Florida soon to discuss and schedule the surgery. I will update everytime I know more.

All I want to do is get better. I want to go back to work and love on my patients and help them get better. My resources have run dry to include my savings, short-term disability and unemployment. If it were not for my Mother who has been my saving grace, I would not have a roof over my head. She has worked two jobs, killing herself to help feed me and pay my medical bills along with cobra health insurance. She is 67 years old and also suffers from congestive heart failure and needs to rest.
