Recovery for Mitchell

Donation protected
Mitchell Brooks is 26 and has been critically ill with infection that started from an ingrown hair on his leg.
On May 31, Mitchell was transported from Princeton, WV to Charleston, WV to the MICU unit. He was put on a ventilator, an induced coma and 9 different medications to bring his BP up and keep his heart going, and antibiotics for the infection. The infection attacked his liver, kidneys and heart. Because of all the meds he was placed on, he lost circulation in his feet and at this time they are purple and black with blisters. The doctors are more concerned with getting the infection under control and keeping his BP high enough to keep him alive. He is now off the ventilator and breathing on his own, which is an excellent step in the right direction.
He has a long road of recovery ahead of him to try and save his feet and his left leg, which is the source of the infection. His feet have massive fluid blisters on them and the doctors are hoping that the fluid will be absorbed by his body, if not amputation of toes and left leg below the knee is a possibility.
Mitchell has private health insurance, but the medical bills are mounting up. In addition his Mom, Shelley Croft, my sister in law, is going to have to make multiple trips back and forth to West Virginia.
The money raised will help with medical expenses, home health when he gets to that point, travel and hotel expenses that will be incurred.
Keep Mitchell in prayer in hopes that he can avoid amputation and the infection clears up.
