Help Trip become a Illustrator/Writer

Telling stories through drawings has been a part of my life ever since I first held a crayon. I have desired to find a way to do this professionally for years and have explored many options. The Children's writers/illustrators market is extremely difficult to break into, which is why I have started this site. There are a few great avenues that I have found that could lead me the right direction.The best way to break in on this industry is to professionally self-publish through an established publishing house. Many of these houses were in fact started as talent scouts for the major publishers. The cost of something like this can range from a few thousand all the way to tens of thousands depending on the investment level. I have found a terrific publisher that has a reasonable rate and nice offerings. I am hoping to raise $7000 for this project with the majority going towards the publishing fees, and the rest going towards technology upgrades and hopefully some local travel expenses for book marketing (libraries, schools, etc)

I am turning towards you, my friends and community to help me realize this dream. If $5 is all you can give, it will help.
