Roger’s Accident-BTK Amputation Help

On Friday December 29, 2017, at 9:15pm, I received a horrible phone call. The officer on scene called me to say that my husband was in a motorcycle accident. At first I thought it was a joke, I was truly in shock and couldn’t believe what I was hearing. When I finally saw him at 3am, after hours and hours in surgery, I almost fainted. I will never get that image out of my head. Roger had external fixation devices on his right leg to hold it together, his entire leg. After 40 days (and 13 surgeries) we have come to the decision to amputate. His foot and ankle were severely damaged from the accident, so trying to save it was impossible. On Tuesday February 6th he had his 13th surgery for amputation, and God willing his last. Life will be different for us, but I know Roger is strong and he’ll be back to himself in no time.
