I was diagnosed with tongue cancer in late November 2017. My wife and I are both self employed . I have a wonderful business and personal relationship with a computer firm handling my computer service calls . My wife does interior design consulting as well as painting. Due to my care she has missed out on painting and design consulting opportunities. Since the diagnosis we have spent $1500 in co pays and $1000 in traveling expenses to Penn in Phila , 80 mile round trip . We also have a $1500 deductible to pay on my hospital stay Jan 9th - 12th . We have medical supplies that where sent to us at home. The insurance company is covering a percentage of the home supplies. We have spent  $750 to date on Ensure products for my dietary needs. We will need these products though May/June 2018. My treatments start Feb 5th to March 23rd , Beyond March the $80 copays continue with visits to the specialists. Visits every 3 months the first year,every 4 months the second year, every 6 months the third year ramping down to the 5 year mark. My wife and I are faced with 7 weeks of limited income and upcoming travel and medical expenses. We have two teenage girls and their needs to consider also.
