Gavin’s Perthes Journey

**update** Gavin is having surgery in Texas in August. We will be staying for a week and need to travel back a couple of times for follow ups. Please help us cover the costs for Gavin’s surgery

Gavin Miller is a 6 year old fun loving boy who has had quite the journey so far. Gavin has Legg Calve Perthes Disease. Perthes as it’s called for short is a disease which causes the femoral head in his hip to die and collapse. During regeneration of the bone his hip has become out place and misshaped causing pain and arthritis. Gavin had one surgery last year in which he was in a bilateral leg cast with bars between to keep his legs apart for 2 months. We have done numerous visits of physical therapy, dozens of X-rays and an MRI but recently Gavin has had a set back and is facing yet another more invasive surgery with bracing or casting. We have spoken with an expert for Perthes Disease (co-founder of international Perthes Disease foundation) he has asked us to come and see him to evaluate Gavin. Dr. Kim is located in Dallas Texas and is known to be the best in the country. Please help us get Gavin to Texas to see Dr Kim as we have an appointment next Wednesday February 7th.
