Amanda's miracle

I am raising money to help 2 people with expenses while out of work. My amazing sister who is having a liver transplant and also for the wonderful women who willingly donated part of her liver to her. I just want to help make life a little less stressful for them during this difficult time. Wanted to give you a little background on this miracle happening. Amanda is a loving daughter, sister, and mother of 4 wonderful kids. 3 years ago she had open heart surgery that led to major complications. Since then she has had countless admissions to hospital, a couple of them critical in the ICU. She was told her liver was failing and the liver failure was causing major problems for her heart as well. Her husband is an independent contractor and has had to miss tons of work to juggle the kids, home, and my sister in hospital. He doesn't get paid for any time off. This has taken a huge toll on the kids and them. Watching my sister knowing she may die before she ever received a liver has been heart wrenching. Then came the miracle. 2 days before Christmas, a mother of Amanda's 12 year old sons friends came by and told her she just completed the final testing and would be donating half of her liver to Amanda. She is a mother of 3 young kids herself, an elementary school teacher in North Andover, and probably the most amazing, selfless person we've ever heard of. The sacrifice this woman and her family are making is beyond words. This is a major surgery with a long recovery, and she is selflessly doing this to save my sister's life. If you are unable to donate, please share this. I would love to be able to eliminate some of the burden her family will face while she is out of work and her husband is trying to juggle it all. At the very least, I would like you all to know what an amazing woman she is to step in and save Amanda's life. Because of what she has done, Amanda's kids can finally get their mom back. With all that being said, I wanted to share that surgery went well. They are both still in the hospital and will have a long road ahead of them, but things are looking good.
