Here’s my story:
As a child I had a hard time paying attention in class, I was getting in trouble a lot and going down the wrong path. I was in serious need of something that would give me a reason to choose a better way. Thankfully I found Motorsports and that reason I was searching for. I tried many sports and I was decent at them all, but nothing gave me the same feeling as racing. The excitement of exploring new limits with a fast racing machine and my abilities became a meaningful obsession.
The moment we walked in to the indoor karting track that my dad brought me to, I just knew. The sound, the smell and atmosphere was simply intoxicating. I was hooked! My dad basically told me that if I keep out of trouble and raise my grades we’ll start doing this more often. My dad being a former successful Racing Driver, naturally I was already in to cars and was also introduced to Online Simulation Racing. In 2013 I started Simulation training with my dad as he taught me many things including the many disciplines of driving and a way of thinking. After 6 months of training on a Simulator I entered my first Indoor Karting Championship in 2014. I won the Championship by 1 point at the last race against the reigning Champion. Through the years I’ve been through some tough moments financially and psychologically where at times outside influences made me want to give up. But instead I powered through those moments and used them as opportunities to grow. Over the years I’ve focused on improving, winning more championships both in Karting and Online and most recently have been selected as 1 of 30 karters in the world to compete in the Lucas Oil Formula Car “Karts to Cars” shootout. I cannot even begin to tell you how emotional this selection was and it is now my mission to journey this new phase in my career. The winner of this shootout is awarded a full season of professional racing in the prestigious Formula Ford 1600 series a total of $75,000.00. In order for me to continue with the qualification process I need to attend their 2-day racing school ($3,000.00) and their entry fee of $5,000 for the shootout. This will not even include airfare, hotel, food etc. while I’m in Florida.
Of course being from a modest background funding is always a question as anything worth doing tends to be. My hope is that you can join me in my Motorsports journey and help contribute to this dream. I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to read my story and appreciate any contributions you can offer.
To enable my official registration, we need to reach our goal of $7,500 by October 15
I’ve 78% met my goal thank you so much to everybody for the donations, the likes, and for the positive comments!
