I’ve struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts, and while I was finally on the mend, a deep betrayal from family members sent me spiraling back into a darker place. The pain and hopelessness I felt left me paralyzed — and my home slowly became a reflection of my mind.

Out of desperation, I hired professional cleaners to declutter my apartment and give me a fresh start. They did the work, but the cost was devastating — $4,000 — and in the process, they threw out all of my food, leaving my cupboards completely bare.
