Austin's Thailand Service Trip!

What's up everyone,

My name is Austin and I am 16 years old and from New York. I have had the pleasure of being exposed to animals throughout my life, and I cannot remember a time where I did not love every second spent. At 16, I am beginning to ponder what course I wish my life to take. However, that was pretty simple. Just like my exeprience with animals, my passion for their happiness and well-being has been with me forever.

I have the chance to go on a GLA (Global Leadership Adventures) sponsored trip to Thailand. It is a 3 week adventure where we will:
"volunteer with organizations that support injured, aging, or retired elephants.
Help organizations that provide humane care for rescued or rehabilitating animals.
Study elephant behavior and biology in a natural environment.
Learn the art of Thai cooking.
Explore intricate Buddhist temples."

As an animal lover, and one who has a passion for wildlife conservation and zoology, this trip is an amazing opprotunity. It will allow me to not only work with the animals I love and be an assistance to their well-being. It will also help me further my education in the field in which I love.

This community service trip, if I could go, would truly change my life. However, though, it comes at a price, at which you see listed here. Of course, I am not expecting to get all of it on this website, but this is a good start.
