Hi everyone! I started this to help out my dear friend Kimmy 's small American Paint horse named Maggie with the hopes to save her life.
Maggie was originally rescued by Kimmy 13 years ago from a serve neglect and not properly cared for. Since her rescue, Kimmy has worked every day to ensure the best and most comfortable life for her horse. Today is no different and she needs our help to save Maggies life.
Maggie was suffering from a serious case of colic, abdominal pain and discomfort all week. After four vet visits to the farm, and supportive care Maggie was not improving. She was taken to West MI Veterinary clinic for over night care, ultrasound and round the clock fluids. An unidentifiable mass was found and bloodwork discovered she was in liver failure. Maggie was immediately taken half way across the state to MI State Veterinary campus where they can provide more accurate diagnosis and extensive care with their state of the art technology. A team of Vet staff was waiting for her arrival.
Vets immediately discovered her colon had been displaced and a large mass inside her colon was unable to pass, organs and intestinal track were swelling by the minute and her liver was in rapid decline. She went into emergency surgery.
This extensive live saving care is expected to reach $7000-$8000 approximately plus post office care which can be the most critical time.
Maggie has been a wonderful horse, friend, shoulder to cry on and teacher to many children, including Kimmys own daughter over the years. This wonderful horse deserves all the help she can get to save her life. Every spare penny, nickle, dime and or quarter is very very appreciated.
Thank you!
