Hello everyone this is Rosie's son Orlando Avery. My mother Rosalita "Rosie" Roach has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor called Gliobastoma a fast moving aggressive tumor in the brain that effects her daily functions such as sight, memory, speech and balance. This happened so fast for our family it caught most of us off guard to this. She was fine over the holidays an in the recent weeks in this month of January she slowly started showing the signs so we taken her to Sioux San Indian Health Service where at first the medical staff thought it was a small stroke, so we were sent home to wait to see a neurologist and she gradually started getting worse we took her in to Cheyenne River Health Center 5 days after her CT Scan at Sioux San, the ER doctor at Cheyenne River Health Service made it to appoint of urgency and they requested her to be life flighted to Rapid City Regional Health because of the growth on her head which was missed at Sioux San Indian Health service Unit. When she got here to RC REGIONAL the neurologist did an MRI and he found a growth in her brain, he's 90% sure it is Gliobastoma and that we need to act swift on what to do next as far as care and treatment procedure. My mother has been healthy her entire life with eating right, exercise, no diabetes, everything is all healthy for her and she will be 71 as of March 11. I decided to create a gofundme to help raise funds for her medical expense, medical related appointments that will be coming up, also for us family that will travel and be with her by her side in her time of need. We all were caught swiftly by this news of our mother, sister, grandmother, auntie, god mother and friend. Everyone that knows my mother knows her spirit and her power of prayer and her life commitment to the Catholic and Lakota way of life. When ever you seen Rosie she always greeted you with a smile and positive guidance, she never ever asked for money she was to proud and independent to even ask,she is a strong Lakota winyan (woman) that's ready for this battle against this tumor.
