Stand Together With Caroline

Donation protected
Our dear friends Caroline and Zach Swenson need our help. We all are groomed to be independent stand tall pillars in life and leaning is a challenge for us all. Caroline and Zach are the epitome of strong pillars to their friends, family, and especially their two daughters, who truly define the word miracle. It’s now time for them to lean on us. Just take a minute to imagine: Cancer, thoughts of never having children, surgery, recovery, the fear and joy of getting pregnant, holding not one but two miracles, 4 years-11 months-29 days cancer free; buy new house, husband is laid off; cancer has returned, surgery, recovery, radiation, have to work 1/2 days to maintain family health insurance, husband searching for new job, months of radiation recovery going forward, mounds of medical bills that would astound you, trying to work, be a mom, wife, and friend, the thought of losing your life along with everything you worked so hard to have. Life is priceless ~ living is peace of mind. Let’s give Caroline and Zach a little peace of mind. Caroline and I found our friendship as a result of a common thread ~ cancer. A diagnosis that stuns you to the core. With the announcement that HPV had turned to cervical cancer as Caroline and her new husband Zach were leaving on their honeymoon, the couple was floored and lost as to what the future might hold and dreams of a family starting to diminish. Upon their return, they learned that Caroline’s oncologist would perform a procedure to save a portion of her cervix to give them a chance - a small chance - to have a child. After many procedures, prayers, and hope ~ they received the gift of not just one child but two beautiful daughters. With a 97% chance of cure, Caroline was informed on her last appointment, October 23, 2017, “your cancer has returned”. “WHAT” ~ after 5 years of screening, she knew something was not quite right but NEVER expected that her cervical cancer would return ~ after all there was only a 3% chance that it could. Instead of ending cancer care, it began once again with an entirely set of new challenges. Moving forward with immediate surgery, recovery, then radiation for 28 consecutive days, Caroline will have months of recovery from her radiation that ended a few days ago and her husband Zach is still searching for a job. Please consider giving to this campaign and helping our friends ~ Caroline and Zach.
