Rusty Turbyfield Memorial Fund
On behalf of my mother-in-law Rose and the rest of the Turbyfield family, I was asked to post the following information about our “favorite brother” Rusty. As most of you know, Rusty has continuously been in and out of local hospitals, rehabs and Vanderbilt Medical Center since September 1, 2017. He has only been home for a very few days here and there since last fall. What many of you may not know is that this past week Rusty was again airlifted to Vanderbilt and at this time the prognosis is not good….in fact it’s the worst it has probably ever been. We are currently working with Vanderbilt to locate a local Hospice so he can be moved back closer to his family for what appears to be his final days. While our family continues to hope for the best, we are also at a point where we must anticipate the worst and we are currently in the process of preparing for what the near future may unfortunately hold. Rusty is loved by so many. Through the years since his double lung transplant, the outpouring of support from others to assist him with medical and living expenses has been overwhelming and very appreciated by both him and our family. Unfortunately, Rusty has no life insurance or benefits so our family will be solely responsible for his final expenses. With that being said, as we prepare to face the worst possible outcome, our family wanted to make those who know and love him aware that a Memorial Fund in honor of Rusty has been set up at Select Seven Credit Union. Donations received through this account will be used to assist his mother with the financial burden she will incur over this final course of Rusty’s journey.
